My two passions in life are nature and technology. After a long day at the desk, I like to go out with my dog along the trails, here on beautiful Vancouver Island.
I’ve always enjoyed working with computers. Way back to a Commadore 64 with magnetic disk tapes. During high school we used Apple || and MAC OS, we later got a Windows 3.1 machine. Since, I have used every version of Windows and have become fairly good on any Linux distribution I’ve tried.
My goal is to move more into network and cybersecurity analyst work. I’ve recently completed cybersecurity and networking courses from Google, and I’m eager to apply my knowledge in a dynamic role. Network security has become more vital than ever before. I’d like to help protect people and businesses from data leaks.
Being an IT support professional offers a unique blend of technical challenges and human interaction that can make it a truly enjoyable career. One of the most rewarding aspects is the opportunity to help people. Whether it’s troubleshooting a computer issue that’s preventing someone from working or resolving a technical problem that’s causing frustration, there’s a sense of satisfaction in being able to assist others and make their day a little easier.
In addition to helping people, IT support also offers a constant stream of technical challenges to keep things interesting. From learning new software and hardware to troubleshooting complex network issues, there’s always something new to learn and explore. This continuous learning can be both stimulating and rewarding, as it allows you to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and improve your skills.
